The scientist in me is fascinated to see what happens when an institutionally denuded America is handed over to the maliciously stupid.
Will total collapse happen?
If it does, how long will it take?
If it doesn't happen, does that mean America can be run by idiots and no one will know?
Does governance matter?
Premise
We are about to witness what happens when a functional superpower is handed over to malicious incompetents. In the past, when less than stellar Administrations came to power, their sharp edges were sanded down by institutions. Never before in human history has such a dedicated and focused antigovernment government been elected to govern America.
Institutioncide is nearly complete.
The legislature, judiciary, the free press, and all major corporations have already submitted. Accordingly, their checks and balances have all washed away.
There remain only two pro-constitution institutions left. The apolitical military and civil service. Being apolitical is totally unacceptable. Everything is and must be political. Anything not pro-Trump is anti-American. Patriots decide what is treason. And we all know what happens to traitors.
It's a very simple test. “What kind of American are you?”
As I've written on these pages for the past 4 years, the last standing apolitical institutions are about to be fed to the Honeybadgers. Honeybadgers don't care. They will rip open the hive and take all the honey, leaving only destruction in their wake.
George Kennan and Evil Empire's
America has never been institutionally naked before.
The only question is how deep will collapse run and how long will it take before a corrective can gain real traction? This is a guns of August scenario. Meaning the powers that have been unleashed are inexorable - except for collapse under their own weight.
George Kennan made the same observation about Soviet communism in the X Telegram. He knew we could not reverse the power of imperial Soviet Russia. Our only choice was to contain it and wait for its contradictions to eventually cause its collapse.
That took 72 years.
We don't have that kind of time. Not under the conditions of bad decisions at the speed of light backed by nuclear weapons.
