Asymmetry is essential to victory in politics and war. Doing what the other side fears the most is the key to success. This is why it has been an astonishing few days in a high octane year. In an act on par with George Washington’s return to private life, President Biden stepped down from the campaign and Kamala Harris has stepped up with the President’s endorsement. Infighting, disunity and chaos were expected. Instead, the complete opposite happened. The Democratic Party instantly formed a ring of steel around the new candidate. All major contenders full endorsed her candidacy. All constituencies within the party united behind her. Within 48 hours she has been reported to have enough delegates to be the presumptive nominee. It has been pure 100% - common sense, discipline and unity.
Accordingly, Civil War II, abandons the call for a national unity government in recognition of the fact that is what the Democrats have delivered in this candidate and in their conduct of this process.
The resulting mega star-burst of energy behind Kamala has been stupefying. In one day, small donors gave $100m to the campaign - that number is climbing by the hour. More than 100,000 people joined 2 conference calls seeking volunteers. The energy keeps escalating following the re-release of an old ad that is perfectly on point for this critical hour. It asks if the viewer is tired of Trump’s whining and cleverly paints Harris as the anti-Trump. The prosecutor who will bring the rampaging criminality of the Trump Terror Network to an abrupt and desperately needed end. The leader who will restore law and order and deliver the country from fascism.
The VP’s first campaign speech is below. It is worth watching the 10 mins in full. It is authentic. It is powerful. It is upbeat and simply fun. We see the happy warrior - whose genuine (not cocky) confidence is electrifying. This is what a winner looks like. Harris absolutely will win.
There will be a lot of speculation and horse race commentary on who Harris will pick as a running mate. The Democrats are lucky to have an overabundance of serious people with authentic political talent. CWII had previously highlighted Secretary Buttigieg and Governor Newsom. Gov Pritzker first came on CWII’s radar for his commonsense commencement address where he explained the corrosive effect maga had in destroying our civic norms. There are still many others.
Because Pennsylvania is the most critical of the swing states, its recently elected Governor Josh Shapiro is particularly notable. He's smart, he’s grounded, he’s practical and he won by a landslide. He's a very effective communicator. Here he is telling Trump to “stop shit talking America”. It’s frank, refreshing, ‘straight talk’ that people used to like so much about Trump - except in Shapiro it’s grounded in reality. Gov Shapiro fixed a major problem on I-95 - the lifeblood of the eastern seaboard - in a matter of weeks when everyone else said it would take months. He is a very solid executive. Whomever joins VP Harris on the ticket will be a winner.
Maga is in full panic
You know who else knows Harris is going to win? Maga. It is in a full blown screaming panic. In this clip we see one of the most vile of Trump’s henchmen, Stephen Miller, completely losing it. Its delicious. Maga had grown over confident. Miller can’t believe the mighty magats have been wrong footed. All the time, money and energy spent on preparing for this fight has been decimated just hours after they thought they had a powerful convention - except it was focused on the wrong guy!
They can scream “but, Hunters laptop” to the high heavens for all the good it will do them now. It’s going to be an uphill battle to paint a former federal prosecutor as part of a crime family. Steve Bannon must be bouncing around his cell screaming like a lunatic. The best attack they have come up with so far is Harris like to laugh. Oh dear! How evil! That only shines a light on the fact their guy has zero sense of humor and recently admitted he hates it when people laugh at him - because that has been his entire life. Well he better strap in because Kamala is going to ridicule him into oblivion in ways Joe simply couldn’t.
One discord chat room attacking Harris had members screaming over each other that they don't want to go to jail. This was a stunning admission that everything their side had got up to was criminal, and the days of free rides had ended. Major buyers remorse has set in over the choice of JD Vance. The rumor mill is already spinning with talk about dumping him. He was a nasty vindictive victory lap candidate. Now they need someone to help them win over marginal seats… Nikki Hailey most likely. That would be such an ironic choice given that CWII read somewhere that her organization formally endorsed VP Harris!
America can look forward to finally moving on from the idiocracy of the Trump epoch where stagecraft and attention whoring passed for governance. There is a reason this has been a do-nothing Congress. The lunatics in charge have been too busy tweeting and grandstanding on TikTok pathetically trying to “own” the libs with nonsense, while real issues among real people were simply forgotten. The American people didn’t rate to the clowns.
It is time to return to statecraft and the serious business of leading a superpower away from the descent into fascism back to its rightful place leading the free world. Maga will attempt another coup in the wake of their certain loss. They have infiltrated local election organizations with apparatchiks who will claim irregutlatires all over again. Their paramilitaries have been reported in training for various scenarios they are no doubt cooking up. The problem with all of that is it might have worked in a marginal call election. If the energy and escalating momentum behind VP Harris continues in a country yearning to move beyond idiocracy - then it will be a landslide for common sense and only the most stupid will believe the win is not legitimate. They will fight but they will be few in number and will be put down hard.
The poetry of Trump being taken down by a black female prosecutor - once again! - is intergalactic. It's what he fears most. So it's what we should give him. Trump is a coward who knows he will be skewered in debate. Thats why he will try and find any excuse not to debate. The Harris campaign should out machismo Trump by calling for 5 debates and sit back and enjoy the old fat clown talk his way out of that!

This also means Putin loses Ukraine. That will mean he will likely lose his life soon after. Xi will not attack Taiwan. At least for a while. The Axis of Evil depended on fascism coming to America. Its failed. Incredibly narrowly but it failed. We have Joe Biden to thank for that.
Love the Idiocracy comparison! Most of the MAGATS screaming “It’s just like 1984!” have probably never read the book but they can watch the Idiocracy movie in their own mirror everyday.
It has been surprising how fast the democrats have coalesced behind Kamala. This is WAY better than a fractious and contentious fight that the MAGAs would relish and pile on with their usual vitriol.

I’m glad you are confident that Harris will be victorious. But, since we have a huge swath of MAGA idiots and cult members in this country, I won’t breathe a sigh of relief until victory is achieved.
