Introduction to this thread
As my research unfolded, it became clear that while the coup was last minute, that did not mean it was not planned. It is remarkable that an ad hoc scheme, hastily executed, came so close to destroying democracy. 1/6 turned into an important ‘battle lab’ from which ‘lessons learned’ are already being applied to future plans.
As I sorted through reports, a series of lines started to bend toward a key node in the ideation/actor/action nexus - Steve Bannon. He has not been shy about his activities and agenda.
Below you will see snapshots assessments of stories that emerged explaining his role as radical political theorist, strategist, and instigator. The best explanation of Bannon is Chris Wylie’s powerful book: Mindf*ck: Cambridge Analytical and the plot to break America.
I draw on that book extensively in my own. Bannon’s scruffy unkempt appearance provides the revolutionary with the perfect camouflage in a superficial age. Few take him seriously because to mainstream society he looks and sounds like a clown. This is a very dangerous trap. To his legion of hardcore foot soldiers he is a visionary pointing the way to the revolution. He has a unique antenna for finding vulnerable populations, likely though a sense of affinity with their teenage angst. His more brilliant skill is to poke that angst into a wild rage and then point it like a laser on whatever Bannon wants to destroy - Hillary, the GOP, the Administrative State. Bannon is a super empowered, hyper cunning, master manipulator of the masses. His modus operandi is straight forward - find useful idiot billionaires, promise them the moon, and squeeze hundreds of millions out of them to fund his radicalization programs. Donald Trump as a vacant political avatar Bannon could animate with highly tested hatreds was a dream come true. Cambridge Analytica was testing “Build the wall” and “drain the swamp” in 2014 long before Trump was a candidate. The implication being that Trump was Bannon’s creation.

It was the fulfilling of his prophecy by making real the narratives of his favorite books, like The Fourth Turning, which predicts an impending crisis followed by a forgotten generation rising up in rebellion... But Bannon needed an army to unleash chaos. For him, this was an insurgency, and to inspire total loyalty and total engagement, he was prepared to use any narrative that worked. The tools created at Cambridge Analytica in 2014 .. were used to accentuate people's innermost demons in order to build what Bannon called his "movement." By targeting people with specific psychological vulnerabilities, the firm victimized them into joining what was nothing more than a cult led by false prophets, where reason and facts would have little effect on its new followers, digitally isolated as they now were from inconvenient narratives.
That in a nutshell is where America finds itself in 2022.

Re Heeding Steve Bannon’s Call, Election Deniers Organize to Seize Control of the GOP — and Reshape America’s Elections
This accords with my research. It's the same strategy as the Viet Cong. Take out the system from below at the village level.
The 2020 election could not be stolen despite efforts to do so because local GOP election officials would not allow it. Their credibility as solid citizens doing the right thing could not be undermined by the Qanon Caucus in sufficient time to change the results.
They and their families have all been intimidated and threatened - in person, violently, or by political means. Most have resigned. This paves the way for the real 'great replacement' of moderate local election officials with radical Qanon apparatchiks who are ready to follow orders. Classic VC strategy.
This is the QAnon caucus election strategy for 22 and 24.
- Rid state election organizations of moderates who have loyalty to the constitution over party.
- Replace with radical Qanon apparatchiks who will 'follow the plan'.
- Claim election rigged.
- Get new Q-radical state election officials to override votes of public and pick 'agreed slate of electors' and give election to QAnon caucus.
Bannon is famous for saying he's a Leninist and his mission is to destroy the administrative state. He's doing an excellent job. He will succeed because the Qanon caucus have the passion and unquestioning loyalty of a mob.
Meanwhile GOP and Dem moderates have no clue what's going on and therefore are not anywhere near as motivated to resist.

The libs are pouring scorn on this new report because "it didn't happen". That analysis completely misses the point. Had they more time to plan and cajole key players, like Pense; had the DOJ leadership folded; the coup would have succeeded.
The article in question is a war-game that created plausible motivated reasoning for a massive crackdown on BLM, ANTIFA etc.
The premise is a radical left reaction to a stolen election. Why? Because this is what Trump's inner circle was expecting to unfold in the wake of his overturning the election outcome on Jan 6.
The left would have poured into the streets and they would have needed to be put down. HARD. It was the only way to silence critics and establish the new order.
How do we know this?
Because a key mover behind this war game is John Eastman. He was the architect of the coup memo.
Eastman not only outlines the key 'constitutional argument' for the coup but was also involved in war gaming how to tame the backlash against its intended outcome.
In "Civil War II” I explore how the dry run of Jan 6 will be made real next time around and discuss the crack down that Patriots will unleash on traitors who dare to resist. I did not go anywhere near as far as these plans.
Jan 6 was the dress rehearsal. 2024 will be the real thing.
From cowed local election offices, to states issuing bogus slates to overturn the votes by citizens (although Biden and co are so incompetent Trump might just win without all these shenanigans), the left will finally realize they missed the opportunity to stop a real steal and take to the streets.
This document outlines in detail what will meet them. This remains the plan for 2024.
We have the blue print at the national constitutional level and at the operational level for putting down resistance to a coup.
While we still have a democracy will anyone do anything about it? This DOJ? Are you kidding? They are aiding and abetting the enemies of democracy by not taking the threat seriously as evidenced by the weak charges they are bringing and allowing Bannon et al to thumb their noses at lawful subpoenas. The Libs are almost as much to blame for the coming coup as the fascists themselves.

Culture is upstream from politics. If you change the culture then the politics will follow. War is downstream from politics. Culture war inevitably becomes simply war if politics fails to mediate differences peacefully.
Steve Bannon is ideologically of the ultra right, but his ideas are Leninist and his plans modeled on Ho Chi Minh’s bottom-up village shadow-government strategy. He artfully used the new technologies of psychometric manipulation developed by Cambridge Analytica to trigger Brexit and elect extremist candidates across Europe and the US.
His openly stated objective of destroying the ‘administrative state’ coincide with GRU objectives to destabilize the US in order to give Russia freedom of action in its sphere of influence and beyond. Cambridge Analytica brought Bannon and the GRU together through cut outs like Lukoil. Together they are working to manufacture a descent into chaos.
They are making significant headway as Jan 6 proved beyond all doubt. Many see the attack on Congress as a culminating point. It was in fact an artificially manufactured tipping point, enabled by a series of coincident crises. The last time there was major war followed by a global pandemic and economic crises, parts of the democratic world collapsed into authoritarianism.
