I am getting sick of having smoke blown up my ass by (usually) white men and women saying "Don't leave, stay and fight" or "It may not be as bad as you think it will" Bull! I am old, disabled and LGBT. The first time was bad enough.

I hear you. Leave the fight to others. In the circumstances you describe you need to focus on you and do the best you can. It sounds like every day is already a challenge. I hope you have access to community - real community not cyber. If not, try and find it if you can, although I don't discount that's much easier said than done. There is safety and common cause in numbers. Even if the number is 2.

Hi Elizabeth, your thoughts and responses are perfectly reasonable and I hope you are right. Genuinely I do. It's ok to see things differently. I've been seriously wrong as I explained in this and the piece before. My take is an extension of what's happened in the past. But as the psychologists point out, rightly, both Russia and Germany's embrace of communism and fascism, respectively, in the 20thC was not preceded by any democratic period. Weimar being too short lived. In both cases democracy was an alien concept. Not so here. So they have more faith in recovery. I on the other hand see the power of mass psychosis that was purposefully triggered and I suspect will last until there is some massive shock. J6 should have been shock enough and it appeared to have been viewed as a positive.
